The standards of the EN 10305 series contain the technical delivery conditions for precision steel tubes. Precision steel tubes are used in the furniture industry, but above all in mechanical engineering and vehicle construction. They are used as e.g: Shafts, axles, cylinders, injection lines, lines for hydraulic and pneumatic systems, cylinders and ring-shaped parts in mechanical engineering. These standards not only contain the steels and delivery conditions, but are also dimensional standards with preferred dimensions, limit dimensions and tolerances.They can therefore be used as a basis for ordering without further standards.

The fourth edition of Part 3 will include all welded dimensionally rolled pipes.It is the result of a merger of DIN EN 10305-3:2016-08 (for circular pipes) and DIN EN 10305-5:2016-08 (for pipes with square and rectangular cross-sections). The standard has been fundamentally revised, including the following further changes
- Dimensions, thickness and limit dimensions have been adjusted;- new high-strength steel grades have been included.
